Bob is a commercial and tax lawyer and a qualified Chartered Accountant.
He practises mainly in the areas of business and commercial law, taxation law, property law and estate planning.
Prior to establishing Medcalf Grant Lawyers, Bob had a diverse legal and commercial career ranging from working at KPMG in the early 1990s where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant, to spending two years in Forbes, New South Wales, working for a local Chartered Accounting firm, to later spending two years with a merchant bank in London.
Living locally, he enjoys being part of the Manly community. Bob plays the bagpipes for the Manly Warringah Pipe Band. He is also a keen golfer, being a member at the local golf club.
Bob is currently studying for his Master of Laws degree at the University of Sydney, majoring in taxation law and revenue law.

Philippa Grant

Philippa is a criminal and commercial litigation lawyer. She is a Law Society Accredited Specialist in both Advocacy and Criminal law and has Bachelor Degrees from the University of Otago in Arts and Law.
Her areas of practice include commercial and civil litigation, criminal and traffic law and personal injury.
Philippa was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 1993. She practised in Hamilton New Zealand as a criminal and family lawyer for 5 1/2 years before moving to London where she worked as a Locum Social Services Solicitor.
She settled in Sydney in 2000 when she was admitted to practice as a Legal Practitioner of the New South Wales Supreme Court. Since that time she has worked as a litigation and criminal lawyer in established Manly law firms before establishing Medcalf Grant Lawyers in July of 2007. Philippa regularly appears in both local and superior Courts.

David Buckner

David is a long time local solicitor who began practising in Freshwater in 1979. As a sole practitioner he has a wide range of experience in all aspects of general practice but specialises in conveyancing and the administration of deceased estates.
David graduated from Sydney University in 1971 and began practice with a medium sized city firm before setting up practice in Freshwater in 1979. He migrated north to Collaroy in 1991 and continued to practice there until 2004.
He now enjoys practice with Medcalf Grant and brings over thirty-five years experience to the firm.
David lives in Fairlight and enjoys involvement with the local community and is a member of most of the local clubs and his interests include surfing, fishing and golf.

Kim Harris

Kim graduated with Honours in Law in 2002 and Honours in Psychology in 1999.
She practised law with a well known local Manly firm for six years before joining Medcalf Grant in 2010.
Her areas of practice include civil litigation, criminal law and wills and estates.
Kim lives in Belrose and enjoys movies, reading and going to the gym. |
Stuart Austin

Stuart is a commercial lawyer. After graduating from law school, he practised law with a medium sized Sydney law firm for four years, specialising in a range of commercial areas, including mergers and acquisitions, trade practices and intellectual property law.
In 1996, Stuart set up his own market research company. He was responsible for overseeing all aspects of this company, including capital raising, intellectual property registration and protection, system development, personnel management, and sales and marketing. This company is now in its fourteenth year of operation and employs over 20 people.
In 2004, Stuart set up an IT company specialising in Video on Demand and data compression. Again, Stuart was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company, including capital raising (over $3 million of capital raised), intellectual property protection, technology development, personnel management and sales and marketing. This company is now in its sixth year of operation.
Stuart therefore brings a wealth of practical knowledge and legal application to Medcalf Grant, particularly in the areas of company and partnership creation, early stage entity issues, entity mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property protection. |
 
Barry Nicholas

Barry is a Manly resident who qualified as a lawyer later in life after a long career in Electronic Engineering.
His background includes 11 years with the Royal Australian Navy in guided missiles, 8 years with Garden Island Dockyard in technical training and 18 years with a NSW business in electronics. Since 1996 he has provided business consultancy services on a wide range of topics to various technical organisations.
During his business career Barry was the CEO and Executive Director of a medium size public company involved in the design, manufacture and repair of a diverse range of technical equipment. Part of his responsibilities included the successful overall management of a $150M Defence communications project.
He spent a short period with the in house legal team at IBM in Sydney.
Barry enjoys local interests and is the Drum Major of the Manly Warringah Pipe Band and also plays golf regularly. |

Nicole Vander Reyden

Nicole completed the Conveyancing Law & Practice course at Macquarie University in 2006. In December 2009 she was issued with her Conveyancer’s Licence and is now a fully licensed Conveyancer.
Nicole lives in Warriewood and enjoys involvement with a local rockpool swimming club and hockey club and her interests include photography, swimming and playing the flute. |
